We are all more aware of the need to take care of our environment. Today I will begin a 7 part series on ways to make weddings more eco-friendly. Many couples to be are opting for organic and earth friendly. Trying to reduce the carbon footprint and waste for your own wedding can help lessen the environmental impact of your big day.
The largest environmental and financial impact of a wedding is its size. The average number of wedding guests is more than 150, and the average wedding budget is $20,000. Reducing the number of people at the wedding means reducing the amount of fuel burned for traveling, the amount of food consumed, and the amount of waste produced.
Rather than inviting everyone you have ever played ball with, worked with or went to school with and all your cousins.. think about those people who have truly influenced your life. Those are the people you should be celebrating your big day with. If you want to celebrate with acquaintances have a BBQ or Pot Luck later and show off your wedding pic or videos then.
