Eco-friendly wedding favours are one of the easiest ways to be environmentally friendly while planning a wedding. Buying gifts from a local artist instead of items shipped from half way across the world is a great way to incorporate “green” into your plans. Other gift options include handing out fair trade coffees, locally made chocolate, candy or seeds, bulbs, or small trees that the guests can plant. I have also seen couples make donations to a charity of their choice (Heart and Stroke, Cancer Society, Humane Society etc.) and have a small note on each table letting guests know. The last wedding I was at, they had individual cakes as a favour and as dessert, which worked great. The mini cake was even what they used to ‘cut’, saving the expense of a huge elaborately decorated cake.
