Just read a story in the London Free Press online, (Friday July 19, 2013) about a lady who has married hundreds of couples locally but was not licensed to do so.
Rest assured, I am a Chaplain and licensed through Abba Ministries of Canada. They are a non-denominational congregation with head quarters in Halifax.
If you want to confirm that the person marrying you is licensed, there is list published by Service Ontario. www.serviceontario.ca/gettingmarried that will confirm your officiant.
FYI, because all the couples this lady married went into the ceremony in good faith, believing they were married, the Ontario Government has a provision in case that happens.. so everyone can ‘live happily ever after’
