Music plays a significant role in the major events throughout our lives. We remember what music was playing, even background music during these times. That is why it is important to choose not only appropriate but meaningful music for your Wedding Ceremony. Budget may determine whether you have a friend cue an iPod, or there is a 3 piece ensemble, a dj, guitar player, choir or soloist. These are all great ways to present music, the challenge is picking the right songs. Traditionally there is music playing in the background when guests arrive. When the bridal party enters and when the bride enters there is music, some brides use the same song for the entire wedding party others have a special song for the bride. Music during the ceremony and/or when the Happy Couple sign the Marriage License lends itself nicely. There is also celebratory music after the couple is introduced as married and they walk down the aisle. While church weddings are often limited in the use of hymns, non-denominational ceremonies have limitless possibilities. (I have heard had couples use the theme for Star Wars as they pass under light-savers to “Signed, Sealed, Delivered”) Just as you spend hours deciding what music to have for your 1st Dance… spend time personalizing your ceremony music.
