While on 9% of people get married over the Christmas Holidays, almost 20% get engaged. Here are some suggestions to make your proposal a memorable experience.
Let’s assume both of you have discussed getting married, whether she/he would like to pick the ring with you. That being said, it is a good idea to pick a time, date and location that is special to you both. It may be where you had a first date, first kiss, intimate conversations etc. While it may be tempting to propose in front of a huge family gathering… if given the choice gals/guys usually like private personalized proposals. You can make an announcement at a family gathering or with friends after. Keep that moment special to the two of you. If you do want the moment captured, have a trusted friend in the wings with a camera or video, discretely capturing the proposal.
Hiding the ring in food, in an ornament or a champagne glass is cliche, most guys/gals like a ‘knee-dropping’ proposal, and while you may be nervous make sure you haven’t had too much to drink.
Be creative and keep it personal. You are creating a memory that will last a lifetime!
