Yesterday I had a table at the “Wish Upon A Star” Wedding Show at the London Club. Congratulations to all the happy couples that I met! What surprised me was how stressed so many of them felt, even those who were newly engaged with no date set. Who says, that just because you are engaged that you have to immediately pick the date, venue, wedding party, dress, flowers, officiant, menu etc? No one!!! As I told many soon to be brides, this is supposed to be fun, not stressful. I know you can’t wait until 2 months before the wedding for most things, (depends upon the size of the wedding… I planned mine and was married in 3 weeks), but find a way to enjoy it. It was great seeing brides with friends, with an attentive fiance beside them, and with their children assisting in the planning. Your special day will be perfect because you and your partner are getting married. So try to breathe and enjoy all aspects of planning. If it stops being fun, if you find yourself turning into Bridezilla, take a step back and breath several deep breaths and ask why you are doing that particular thing. Ask for the assistance of others if you are able, not for decisions but executing them. Enjoy your day and all the days that lead up to it. To all the brides I met yesterday.. it was a pleasure. I wish you a ‘Happily Ever After’.
