There are creative ways to personalize your wedding ceremony. I’d like to share one new to me, that was created by a couple of ladies I recently
had the pleasure of marrying. The ritual is the Time Capsule. They had originally had a special wooden box in which their guests would put in best
wishes for them, that they would open on their 5th Wedding Anniversary. We took it a bit further and I will also add a couple of other suggestions.
To start off, the couple wrote each other a love letter. Their contribution to the Time Capsule. The putting of their letters into the Time Capsule can
be made as part of the ceremony, ideally after the vows and rings are exchanged. Guests were provided with paper and pens to add their best wishes
or marital advice over the course of the rest of the celebration. Someone might remind them, or have the box in a prominent spot.
Other things you may want to put in your Time Capsule, is a picture from your first date, or first couple picture, a newspaper from the day you
were married, a wedding invitation etc.. Use our creativity as a couple. The more thought you put into the Time Capsule, the more meaningful it will be
in 5 years when you open it up.
