In the past few years I have officiated at weddings at many and varied locations: golf courses, in and outdoor at hotels, public gardens, private homes, small chapels, wineries, museums, on the beach, parks, conservation areas, in the woods or at small inns. There have been a few new ‘barn’ type locations that have started as wedding venues in the London area. While things can be a little less formal, some of the locations are quite posh and elegant. When choosing a barn type location there are special considerations. First of all, and rather obvious… what does it smell like? Also, are there washrooms? What if the weather is cool or cold will guests be warm enough or will you need to provide heaters? Will there be a kitchen space for your caterer, or do they need to bring everything with them? What type of parking? Do they provide tables, chairs, cloths and decor or do you need to bring that? A few more considerations to think about, but using a ‘barn’ for your wedding can be the best choice for you and your guests and will fill you and your guests with wonderful memories.
